Why this project exists
Most sleep calculators give one answer without showing the assumptions behind it. Sandy was built around a different idea: show several options, explain the model, and make the limits visible.
The project focuses on practical timing problems: one night of sleep, a seven-day schedule, a nap, caffeine timing, and shift work. The goal is not to promise perfect sleep. It is to make planning clearer.
How the tools are made
- Calculations run locally in the browser.
- No account is required.
- Inputs are not sent to a server.
- Assumptions are shown to the user.
- Every calculator explains what it cannot do.
How content is checked
Health-adjacent explanations are checked against public sources such as the CDC, NIH and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Pages link to sources where practical and distinguish a planning estimate from a medical measurement.
AI-assisted drafting may be used as a working tool, but published pages are reviewed for accuracy, clarity and relevance. The site does not publish auto-generated pages at scale and does not invent medical reviewers.
Corrections and contact
If a page contains an error or an accessibility barrier, use the contact page. Specific feedback with a page URL and supporting source is easiest to act on.
